Knesset
The OJCS Knesset (Student Council) is the representative body for students at the Ottawa Jewish Community School. The role of the Knesset is to represent and promote the interests of students to staff, administration, and parents. The council organizes events to promote student life and Tikkun Olam while developing and supporting student leadership.
Brand new this year, we are launching a Junior Knesset! Junior Knesset is open to all students in Grades 3-5 who are looking to develop their leadership skills. Students are able to sign up with their homeroom teachers.
Senior Knesset consists of two student representatives from each grade 6-8 class. In addition to the class representatives, the elected executive will consist of the following:
President (Or Co-Presidents)
Vice-President
Treasurer
Secretary
Communications
Jewish Life
The Knesset plays an integral part in representing the student voice in decision-making and learning at OJCS and building ruach at the school.
